SEASHELLS Whether you’re interested in the molluscs that build Shell Reefs, you’re a beachcomber or citizen scientist, student or teacher. Maybe you just admire the natural beauty or enjoying eating seafood, please come along to our talk.
Our guest Peter Hunt will present on molluscs and their shells, what they mean to South Australians and their role in our coastal ecology. With an emphasis on the Port Adelaide and local Adelaide coastal regions we will discover why they are so important and unique, plus how they are in helping our environment and industries. Included is information about the local shell reef projects and why they have being established. We take a look at some of the many shells that regularly wash up on our beaches, discovering their biodiversity and life styles.
